Use of Momentum INDICATOR

Momentum is derived by calculating the difference between today’s price and the price N days ago. Typically, the closing price 10 periods prior is used, but different periods can be substituted to make the indicator more or less sensitive. The shorter the time period substituted for N, the more sensitive the indicator will be to short-term market fluctuations and vice versa.
